Bria Salmena – Stretch the Struggle
Bria Salmena’s “Stretch the Struggle” is the second single from her debut solo album Big Dog (out March 28 via Sub Pop Records).
Known for her roles as the frontwoman of experimental post-punk band FRIGS and a member of Orville Peck’s touring band, Salmena strikes out on her own with a sound that’s as unflinching as it is cathartic. Produced alongside long-time collaborator Duncan Hay Jennings, “Stretch the Struggle” layers thick distorted guitars, pulsing synths, and heavy percussion to reflect the chaos of falling back into destructive patterns.
Collaborators like Graham Walsh (Holy F**k) and Meg Remy (U.S. Girls) have helped refine the album’s balance of rock and electronic influences, while Salmena’s raw vocal performances, guided by Remy, lie at the heart of Big Dog.
