HMLTD – Umami
HMLTD call “Umami” the closest thing they’ve ever written to a club track. Bloghouse, eurotrash and EDM are the reference points. The lyric is one night told in flashes: little bags passed around, eyes rolling back, dancing until thinking switches off and the body runs the show without the soul. Celebration and indictment at once, which is precisely how the band frame it: the club as a space for excess, and the club as it actually is now.
It follows “I Used To Ride In Limousines” and Blitzkrieg (W31) as the third preview of FANGS, out October 23 on Lucky Number, and Henry Spychalski directed the video. Best of the three so far.
