Bryce Barsten laid down both the drum and bassline for “Dance Dance Dance (跳舞跳舞跳舞)” before he or she wrote a single line. Anne Tong has stated that after they both listened to the groove playing back, there were no words left to write so they simply danced to the music, which ultimately turned out to be the basis of the song. This is an unreleased track from Dim Sum & Then Some. The Seattle based duo released their third full length on May 17th via Moshi Moshi. A new color video will premiere for the song today using fan submitted footage.
“Dance Dance Dance” relies heavily on Disco Bounce and Light Psychedelia. Tong sings over it in Mandarin and English. She uses a playful countdown as her hook instead of any real storyline, again fitting perfectly within the loose grove-based way the duo came up with the song. The style of this song fits perfectly within their overall style as a whole.
