Pem – to earth will you tell me when we land
Bristol’s Pem shares “to earth will you tell me when we land”, announcing her new EP “other ways of landing” for January 30, 2026 on Fascination Street Records. The track follows “m4 windy” and continues the stripped-back approach that lets her voice take centre stage.
The production keeps things simple—strings come in for orchestral support, but nothing crowds her vocals. Pem’s voice remains the focus, carrying the emotional weight without needing much else around it. She discusses syzygy, the alignment of celestial bodies during an eclipse, using it as a metaphor for fleeting yet meaningful connections between people.
The EP grew out of a year when she moved seven times but kept returning to the same gardens for work. She’d hum melodies while gardening, thinking about the balance between belonging and rootlessness. Those recordings turned into the five tracks on “other ways of landing”. The EP explores change, ritual, and emotional drift through folk-rooted songwriting, combined with field recordings.
