Spiritual Cramp – You’ve Got My Number (feat. Sharon Van Etten)

San Francisco punks Spiritual Cramp release their second album “RUDE” via Blue Grape Music, featuring a duet with Sharon Van Etten on “You’ve Got My Number.” The album was produced by Grammy winner John Congleton and mixed by Carlos de la Garza, who helped trim the fat off their 2023 self-titled debut.

For the first time, songwriting was distributed among all members, rather than just frontman Michael Bingham and bassist Michael Fenton. Bingham describes the album as keeping your side of the street clean while calling out those who don’t. “RUDE” reads as a love letter to San Francisco, where the band came up through the Bay Area hardcore scene alongside Militarie Gun, Drain, and Scowl. Los Angeles—where Bingham relocated before the debut—represents the opposite: shiny, loud, but empty.

The video for “You’ve Got My Number,” directed and animated by Jack Hamilton and Dylan Wilson, reimagines Bingham as an animated character navigating the psychological toll of endless touring and the pursuit of success. The 13-track album mixes new wave energy, indie rock attitude, old school punk, and elements of dub and hip-hop.

Spiritual Cramp completed a European tour with L.S. Dunes and Rise Against earlier this year, followed by US dates supporting Bad Nerves. In November and December, they’ll support The Hives on their UK and European tour, including three German dates in Cologne, Frankfurt, and Hamburg.
