Abdomen – Dazed

Abdomen, a Dutch power trio, brings a fresh sound that defies easy categorization. The band consists of Roel Meijer (drums), Ate Kamsma (bass), and Peter van Beets (vocals, guitar). While some local press has dubbed them “post-grunge garage,” the group prefers to let their music speak for itself without genre constraints.

Interestingly, only Roel has formal musical training. The band’s origins trace back to Roel and Peter’s school days, with the two reconnecting years later to pursue their musical passion. These initial jam sessions gave birth to Abdomen.

The band’s name, they humorously note, reflects their direct and instinctive approach to music-making – a “gut feeling”, if you will. This raw, unfiltered energy comes through in their latest single, “Dazed,” showcasing their unique sound and chemistry as a trio.
