Peter Cat Recording Co. – Suddenly

Suddenly, the latest release from Peter Cat Recording Co., is a testament to their transcultural sound and the songwriting prowess of Suryakant Sawhney. The band’s music spans time and space, drawing inspiration from centuries and continents to create modern hymns and timeless folk. Picture yourself on the holodeck of a Star Trek ship, and you might hear something akin to this.

Peter Cat Recording Co. operates less like a traditional band and more like a self-sufficient factory of music and art. Their new album “Beta,” inspired by the birth of Karan Singh’s son, marks a new chapter in their journey.

Founded in 2009 in Delhi, the band includes Suryakant Sawhney (lead singer and guitarist), Karan Singh (drummer), Dhruv Bhola (bass and samples), Rohit Gupta (keys and trumpet), and Kartik Sundareshan Pillai (keyboards, guitar, electronics, and trumpet). They debuted with “Sinema” in 2011, followed by “Wall of Want” in 2012, and “Climax” in 2015. Their recent album “Bismillah” has been acclaimed for its timeless quality and forward-thinking artistry.
