M. Woodroe – Sweetness, Sweetness
M. Woodroe come out of the Brighton DIY scene with “Sweetness, Sweetness”, out now on Venn Records. The four-piece work in noisy, grunge-adjacent alternative rock, and this one leans into a roaring, wall-of-sound delivery that doesn’t let up much across its runtime.
The track is built around social frustration more than personal narrative, and it shows: there’s a political edge running through the song that pushes past general anxiety into something more pointed.
“Sweetness, Sweetness” will appear on the band’s debut EP, “The Treatment of Fractures”, out September 18th.
It’s a short, blunt introduction, but it does its job. I’ll be curious to hear how this energy holds up across a full EP.
