Ghost Funk Orchestra – Leave Me Alone

Ghost Funk Orchestra haven’t sounded this much like a garage band since “Blood Moon”. After a few albums spent deep in jazz, lounge and soul, Seth Applebaum strips “Leave Me Alone” back to fuzz and distortion-pedal guitars, a spacey Wurlitzer and a backbeat that keeps shoving everything forward. Camellia Hartman, back on lead after Yours (W36), sings it to someone who did her wrong, fed up and not bothering to hide it. The video drops her onto a Dating Game-style show where the suitors leave her either disgusted or bored stiff, and she toys with them before showing them the door. Third single from Yours in The Ranks of Death after Ocotillo (W29) and “Yours”, out December 4 on Colemine Records.
