Classic Trucks – Bird Underwater (ft. Mumble Tide)

A bird underwater is a creature in the wrong element, held down and cut off from the air, and Josh Jarman couldn’t have picked a clearer title for a song about loving someone who feels far away. “Bird Underwater” is about trying to keep hold of a person who stays just unreachable, and it was one of the first songs written for Classic Trucks, with ’90s country records by Lucinda Williams and Jason Molina in mind. Mumble Tide join him on it, ahead of debut album Eventually, out February 5, 2027 on Breakfast Records. Classic Trucks (W39) had Jarman as a sapling artist boxed in by traffic and capitalism, after Born Naked (W14) and Masculine Jazz (W18).
