Joe Armon-Jones & Maxwell Owin – Interouternational (feat. Footsie)

Grime and south London jazz have been edging toward each other for a while, and “Interouternational” closes the gap in one go. Joe Armon-Jones, the Ezra Collective keyboardist whose playing has turned up on everything from dub to hip-hop, is back with Maxwell Owin. This time they hand the mic to Footsie of Newham Generals, one of the most recognisable voices in UK underground rap. Armon-Jones’s keys, Owin’s production, Footsie’s voice cutting straight through both, and a video shot by Standby Projects.
