Infinity Knives x Brian Ennals – AMDIA
Infinity Knives & Brian Ennals wrote and recorded most of “AMDIA” between tour dates, and it shows: this EP sounds like two guys catching their breath and using the break to blow off steam instead of resting.
The Baltimore duo call it a bridge between albums, out now on Phantom Limb, following 2022’s “King Cobra” and 2025’s “A City Drowned in God’s Black Tears.” Same push and pull as always: rage and funk in equal measure, Ennals’ bars nihilistic and funny in the same breath, Knives’ production pulling from well outside the boundaries most people would draw around a hip-hop act. Pitchfork put it well, they “thrive on the chaos of an unforgiving world,” and once the track actually starts, that reads less like a compliment on paper and more like a plain description.
Buy it on Bandcamp if you can! The duo have said proceeds go toward the next album and the artists who worked on this one, and a project this scrappy deserves that kind of direct support!
