CHELSEA WOLFE – Seethe
Chelsea Wolfe has spent most of “Seethe”, her new song, staring directly into the camera with something pointedly sharp in her pocket and clearly indicating whom it was intended for. As such, “Seethe” represents the next in line as a single from The Dark, Chelsea Wolfe’s ninth studio album; which is scheduled for release this Friday, August 21st, on Loma Vista Recordings.
This follows the previous two singles, Death Is Not The End / The Dark (W26) and Cold (W30). While both of those tracks developed momentum before they reached their peak volume (“Cold” had an extended build-up), “Seethe” gets right down to business: with aggressive rhythms, sharp guitar riffs and a desolate mood created primarily through the use of anger and strength, which were the primary emotions expressed throughout the first two singles. Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age is credited with playing the lead guitar parts on “Seethe”. In contrast to her electronic-heavy approach on her last record, The Dark features a reported increased emphasis on guitars and a full band.
