The Beths – Metal

After a notable absence since their acclaimed 2022 album “Expert In A Dying Field,” Auckland’s indie rock quartet The Beths returns with “Metal,” their debut release with new label home ANTI.

The track emerged from vocalist Elizabeth Stokes’ introspective period following intense touring and health challenges. At its core, “Metal” contemplates human existence within our physical forms – what Stokes describes as her “health journey”, where she felt her body, once reliable, was breaking down beyond her control.

“Metal” marks an exciting new chapter for The Beths, as they embrace their jangle-rock sensibilities while delivering thoughtful reflections on human fragility.
