The Alchemist – Floppy Disks

The Alchemist – Floppy Disks

The Alchemist, synonymous with brilliance in hip-hop production, kicks off the year with a nostalgic yet forward-looking track, Floppy Disks. As an ode to a bygone era of beat-making, the track embraces the analog charm of floppy disks, a format he references both literally and symbolically. “Dustin’ off floppy disks I’m keeping in storage,” he raps, blending self-awareness with a playful jab at the digital-first generation.

While “Floppy Disks” is a standalone release, it’s a prelude to what promises to be a great year for The Al. His collaboration with Yasiin Bey, under the duo name FORENSICS, is set to debut in late January, marking a significant milestone in his career. The project, premiering live at Paris’s Le Trianon, underscores The Alchemist’s ability to continuously innovate while honouring the traditions of hip-hop.
