Albertine Sarges – Blue Lagoon

Albertine Sarges – Blue Lagoon

Berlin-based artist Albertine Sarges introduces us to her personal sanctuary through “Blue Lagoon”. The track precedes her upcoming album “Girl Missing”, set for release on January 31st, 2025.

The song explores the concept of a personal safe space, which for Sarges is her music studio. “Everyone needs to have a place they can go to, at least in their fantasies”, she explains. “Your personal Blue Lagoon could be a kitchen table in Suffolk or a glam beach house in Mauritius – it really depends on your tastes”.

Drawing inspiration from Neil Young’s “On The Beach”, which she cites as one of her own “Blue Lagoons”, Sarges reflects on music’s enduring power to transport listeners to their inner sanctuaries. The connection runs deep, as she resonates with Young’s lyrics: “The world is turning / I hope it don’t turn away”.
