Honeyglaze – Pretty Girls
Honeyglaze, the London trio, just dropped their new track “Pretty Girls” and it’s a bit of a departure from their usual sound. This one’s got a more straightforward, catchy vibe that surprised me.
They admit they were a bit hesitant to keep it simple at first. Usually, they’re all about complex arrangements and unconventional parts, but this time, they decided to strip it back and have fun with it.
“Pretty Girls” is the third single from their upcoming album “Real Deal”, which is set to come out on September 20th through Fat Possum Records.
What’s the song about? Well, it’s all about trying to resist our bad habits. There’s this line in the song – “I’m in touch with my feminine side I always wear pink” – that the band’s lead vocalist, Anouska Sokolow, says she overheard in a conversation. She loves it because she can’t tell if it’s meant to be sarcastic or not. It’s that kind of ambiguity that makes their lyrics interesting.
