Ezra Collective – God Gave Me Feet For Dancing ft. Yazmin Lacey

Ezra Collective, the trailblazing British jazz group and winners of the 2023 Mercury Music Prize, have unveiled their latest single, “God Gave Me Feet For Dancing,” featuring the soulful Yazmin Lacey. This track is part of their forthcoming album ‘Dance, No One’s Watching,’ set for release on September 27, 2024, via Partisan Records.

“Dance, No One’s Watching” is a celebration of dance as a unifying and spiritual act, drawing from the band’s global experiences throughout 2023. This album captures the essence of various dance floors from London to Lagos, underscoring the universal connection through rhythm and movement.

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the sessions for this album turned into a live communal celebration, filled with friends and family. The single “God Gave Me Feet For Dancing” embodies this spirit, blending deep jazz instrumentation with Lacey’s enchanting vocals. Femi Koleoso, the band’s drummer, explains, “Dancing is bigger than just the club space. It’s a community thing, a spiritual thing, and ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’ is like a window into that element of Ezra Collective.”

The music video, directed by Tajana Tokyo, captures the joy of dancing and its impact on the soul, enhancing the track’s infectious energy. As the album release approaches, fans can catch Ezra Collective live at Central Park SummerStage on July 7 and during their headline UK/EU tour this fall, culminating in a historic show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on November 15.
