PINS – All Over
Tense, slightly off-balance guitars open “All Over”, a smoky vocal coils over them, and by the chorus the whole band are chanting like a 60s girl group with something to prove. The song lurches between wanting and walking away, a kiss followed by a disappearance, an embrace followed by letting go, and the chorus shifts each time it comes round: first a demand to be adored, then an admission of what’s been done, finally a request to be left behind. By the last verse, the narrator is searching a lover’s face for whatever they ever saw in this and finding nothing there. The ending gets chanted over and over until it sounds like a spell.
Recorded at Resonance Studios in Stockport with Joel Patchett, it’s the lead single from If I’m Alive Now, Then I Was Dead, the Manchester four-piece’s first album in six years, out February 12, 2027 on their own Haus of PINS.
