The Big Idea – Come Close (Acoustic)

A record-shop showcase at Balades Sonores in Paris, on the eve of the “Half A Dozen” release party last October, is where “Come Close (Acoustic)” really starts. One unplugged set gave The Big Idea the idea to redo the whole album that way, and this is the first piece of it. The six-piece drop the electric guitars and the heavy fuzz for acoustic guitars and a spread of wind instruments, and what’s left is the song underneath: lighter on its feet, more pop, every part easier to hear. It leads “The Other Half”, out November 6 on EXAG’ Records.
