John Glacier – Bond Girl
John Glacier is back with “Bond Girl”, her first new solo single since last year’s Like A Ribbon, the Hackney rapper, producer, and poet’s acclaimed debut. “Bond Girl” is a sharper turn: low-key, club-ready, and built on a sun-soaked pulse that pulls from early Detroit techno rather than the ambient rap textures she’s known for.
The track is co-produced with Take A Daytrip, the duo behind records for Lil Nas X, Travis Scott, and Dua Lipa, and it shows in the sound: a steady 4/4 rhythm, booming low end, and oscillating synth lines that keep the track moving without losing the hypnotic quality she’s built her name on. The video, directed by Léa Ceheivi, runs with the title literally, casting Glacier as a spy weaving through a world of intrigue in classic 007 style.
Since Like A Ribbon, Glacier has kept busy well beyond music: a British Vogue feature, a Hypebeast cover, a spot in Prada’s Spring/Summer 2026 campaign, and a run of collaborations across genre lines, including work with Blondshell, Jamie xx, and MJ Cole (their “Move Time” collaboration was one we covered too). What’s more striking to me is how little “Bond Girl” leans on any of that. It’s a track that trusts the beat to do the talking.
It’s a confident, compact reintroduction, and a good sign for whatever she’s building toward next.
