HAAi – DIGITiSE

HAAi has announced her third album, “DIGITiSE”, out October 9 on Mute, and shared its title track featuring longtime collaborator Pat Alvarez. It’s billed as a companion to 2025’s HUMANiSE, conceived as music built for her own DJ sets rather than for headphones. “DIGITiSE was created with intention,” she’s said. “I wanted to make music I could play when I DJ.”

The title track backs that up. It doesn’t settle into one groove and stay there, it keeps shifting lanes the way a long DJ set does, picking things up and putting them down before they overstay. HAAi has described the wider album as HUMANiSE‘s “bigger, ravey sibling”, and says it picks up the thread right where the last record left off, with the choir sound that closed HUMANiSE reportedly returning at the start of this one. Beyond the title track, she’s named a few of the album’s other directions: “Ignition” with Echonomist pulls from HUMANiSE cut “Go” but pushes it toward the floor, “I Wanna Feel Like Someone” with James Massiah leans into peak-time bass and motorik rhythm, and “Talking Walls” brings in Skybreak alongside Cantoalegre, a children’s choir from Medellín, Colombia.

The album also folds in past collaborators ILA and Kaiden Ford, and was shaped in part by the road. HAAi has been weaving unfinished versions of these tracks into her own DJ sets ahead of release, watching crowd reactions in real time to tighten the songs before they were locked. The visuals come from Martin Falck, whose past work includes Fever Ray, The Knife, and Icona Pop, and she’s currently Beatport’s Artist of the Month for June.

What stands out on the title track itself is how unwilling it is to sit still. I’m curious to hear whether the rest of the record holds that same restlessness.
