Pip Blom – Hours (2026 Edition)
Pip Blom are ten years in, and to mark it they’ve launched PB10: four songs from across the catalogue re-recorded from scratch at home, plus a 134-page full-colour book collecting photos and stories from the decade, designed by Pip herself. “Hours (2026 Edition)” is the first track out, and the choice makes sense: it was the very first song the band ever released.
The re-recording is Pip’s alone, played and recorded at home and mixed by Tender. She’s been clear about what she was going for: hold the feel of the original, but let where the band is now shape how it sounds. That’s a harder balance than it looks, and the fact that it works is partly because she resisted the temptation to over-produce it. It still sounds like a Pip Blom song. It just sounds like one made in 2026.
There’s something quietly affecting about a band choosing to start an anniversary project with their oldest song rather than their biggest one. More to come from PB10 shortly.
