MJ Cole, John Glacier – Move Time
MJ Cole links with John Glacier on “Move Time”, out via Platoon. The collaboration follows Cole’s recent work with PinkPantheress on “Still Sincere”, continuing his engagement with a generation of artists whose sound grew partly out of his own UKG foundations. John Glacier is a different proposition — one of the more inventive and unpredictable rappers working in the UK right now.
The pair describe the track as a fully integrated collaboration rather than a producer-and-feature arrangement: something built together in the studio rather than constructed in layers. Cole put it directly: “It’s not an MJ Cole beat with some John Glacier vocals.” The result, he says, sounds like neither of them on their own. Glacier frames her contribution in more compressed terms, referencing the need to cut silence and move time. Both descriptions point at the same thing — a track with its own internal urgency that came from the two finding common ground quickly and running with it.
