Water Machine – Tiffany
Glasgow outfit Water Machine has carved a niche with its peculiar brand of art-punk that’s simultaneously weird and catchy. Since its emergence in 2022, its sing-along tracks about dogs, struggling creatives, and housing woes have quickly garnered attention. Now, they’re stepping up with its debut album, “God Park,” dropping June 20th via FatCat Records, with lead single “Tiffany” offering a first taste.
Weary of melancholy and heartbreak anthems, Water Machine opts for what they call “realistic escapism” in their lyrics. Everyday banalities transform into what the band describes as “hyper conceptualized allegories.” When love appears in their songs, it’s cleverly disguised among mating clouds, vehicular collisions, housing crises, rabies outbreaks, toxic employment situations, and office crushes that go nowhere.
