Mousey – Home Alone

Mousey – Home Alone

Mousey’s got a new album coming out called “The Dreams of Our Mothers’ Mothers!” and it’s dropping on October 18th. If you’re into honest, raw songwriting, you might want to check this out.

Mousey, whose real name is Sarena Close, is from Ōtautahi (Christchurch) and this is her third album

Close says she writes about her own experiences, especially the tough ones. The album title is her take on something a German psychotherapist wrote about family systems and breaking those not-so-great patterns that can run in families.

The new single “Home Alone” that shows off Close’s songwriting and vocals. There’s a music video for it too, directed by Robyn Jordaan and styled by Estelle Schuler.

Close wrote “Home Alone” during a rough patch in her life. She was dealing with PTSD and had a miscarriage. The song’s about missing her old life but not wanting to go back to it.
