Naked Roommate – Bus

Naked Roommate, the Oakland-based band, is back with a new single called “Bus”, and it’s a real banger. This track is from their upcoming album “Pass The Loofah”.

These guys have been around since 2018, starting as a duo with Andy Jordan and Amber Sermeno. They’ve since grown into a full band, even adding a horn section for this new album. “Bus” is all about public transport, but don’t let that fool you – it’s a dance floor filler. This four-on-the-floor beat’ll get you moving, and there’s a part in the middle that takes off.

Naked Roommate’s sound is difficult to pin down. They’re mixing post-punk with disco, funk, and house music. The album was recorded over a couple of years, from 2021 to 2023. They did it themselves, which gives it this raw, DIY feel. But don’t think that means it’s not polished – these guys know what they’re doing.
