dust – Trust U See

dust – Trust U See

Australian post-punk outfit dust, known for their immersive live performances and dynamic sound, has released a compelling new track titled “Trust U See” from their upcoming project. Formed in 2020, dust quickly made a name for themselves, opening for renowned acts like Interpol and Bloc Party and releasing their debut EP, et cetera, etc.

“Trust U See” is described by the band as a visceral sonic exploration that delves into themes of pain, trust, and relational dynamics. The song lyrically navigates the literal frustrations of seeking relief and the metaphorical challenges of maintaining trust in relationships. It has become a significant part of their live sets, evolving organically before being finalized in the studio. This track marks their first major studio recording, where they embraced hands-on post-production to fully capture the song’s emotional depth and complexity.

The band comprises dual guitarist-vocalists Gabriel Stove and Justin Teale, bassist Liam Smith, guitarist and saxophonist Adam Ridgway, and drummer Kye Cherry. Their approach to music is highly collaborative and experimental, as evidenced by their recent remix project of the et cetera, etc EP. This project featured contributions from a diverse range of artists, emphasizing dust’s openness to exploring genres beyond their own and their commitment to artistic collaboration without constraints.

“Trust U See” not only highlights dustโ€™s ability to blend intense lyrics with deep, resonant post-punk soundscapes but also signals their maturing sound and artistic vision as they continue to make their mark on the global music scene.
