SLATE – REMOTER HEAVEN

SLATE – REMOTER HEAVEN

From Cardiff, the indie quartet SLATE, with the collaboration of Tom Rees of Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, brings to life “Remoter Heaven.” Spanning over seven minutes, this ambitious track showcases the collective talent of drummer Raychi Bryant, bassist Lauren Edwards, guitarist Ellis Penri, and lead vocalist Jack Shephard. The band embarks on a musical narrative that captures a significant youthful experience, drawing inspiration from Welsh poets like Dylan Thomas and S. R. Thomas. “Remoter Heaven” acts as a preview to their eagerly anticipated debut EP “Deathless,” reflecting deeply on childhood sensitivity and emotional awakening. The song transitions from intimate musings to a full-bodied emotional release, echoing influences from artists like George Ezra to bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, encapsulating the transformation of pain into catharsis and the indelible mark of youthful memories.
