Wesley Joseph – Peace Of Mind (ft. Danny Brown)
Wesley Joseph announces his debut album “Forever Ends Someday” (April 10 via Secretly Canadian) with “Peace Of Mind”, a hard-hitting collaboration with Danny Brown that captures perfectly what Joseph does best. After three years of writing and producing between London, Walsall, Los Angeles, and a remote Swiss mountainside studio, the London-based artist is finally ready to share his most personal work.
“Peace Of Mind” hits immediately. Joseph opens with sharp, quick-fire delivery over brooding bass and warped electronics: “Push me, I’m already close to the edge, smile on my face with my toes on the ledge.” The production is eerie and heavy, rumbling underneath his soulful appeal, before Danny Brown arrives in the second half with his signature unorthodox flow. Brown’s frenetic verse heightens the track’s volatility.
Joseph describes the song as finding clarity within chaos, written from an empowered but unsettled place. “Sometimes you feel the fire in your stomach the most when things aren’t sweet,” he explains. Having Brown on the track was a dream collaboration for Joseph, who grew up considering Brown one of his hero artists. “Someone who’s an outsider and knows no rules when it comes to pushing sound forward and being fearless with it.”
The self-directed video matches the song’s intensity, panning around Joseph as people fight, spray champagne, throw drinks, and have their first dance. It’s chaos and celebration mixed, shifting between stark realism and strobe-lit disorder.
The sound blends soul, R&B, hip-hop, and experimental electronic music into Joseph’s signature genre-blurring style. Following his 2021 EP “ULTRAMARINE” and collaborations with Loyle Carner and Jorja Smith, this debut feels like the culmination of years of introspection and creative evolution. Joseph continues proving himself as one of the UK’s most ambitious multi-hyphenates, extending his talent past music into visual artistry and filmmaking.
Joseph plays a sold-out show at London’s Hideout on January 21, with more tour dates to be announced.
