Dry Cleaning – Let Me Grow and You’ll See the Fruit

Dry Cleaning share “Let Me Grow and You’ll See the Fruit”, the third single from their upcoming album Secret Love. After the punch of “Hit My Head All Day” and “Cruise Ship Designer”, this one pulls back into something gentler and more introspective. Florence Shaw’s spoken-word delivery stays confessional, written stream-of-consciousness style about hyper focus and loneliness. She describes it as a diary entry set to music.

The track was one of the first written for Secret Love and pulls from an eclectic set of influences: ’60s folk act Pentangle, 2001: A Space Odyssey, ancient Roman poet Virgil, and musicians Robyn Rocket and Joanna Sternberg. Chicago-based experimental jazz and metal musician Bruce Lamont contributes saxophone throughout, adding texture to the intricate guitar melodies.

Secret Love drops January 9, 2026 via 4AD. The album was recorded at Jeff Tweedy’s the Loft in Chicago, Sonic Studios in Dublin with Gilla Band’s Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox, and Black Box in the Loire Valley with producer Cate Le Bon. He’s also worked with Deerhunter, Devendra Banhart, Wilco, and Horsegirl. The band wrote and played together in Peckham rehearsal spaces, with music and lyrics forming an inseparable whole.

Alongside the single, the band announced they’ve had to reschedule their North American tour from January/February to May due to what they call “hostile economic forces that govern touring in the present day”. Most shows have been rescheduled and tickets remain valid.
