Kyla Kilzer & Max Noir – Break Through

Brighton singer-songwriter Kyla Kilzer and Jersey-born producer Max Noir mark their signing to Tru Thoughts with “Break Through”, a trip-hop meditation on self-growth and learning to show yourself grace.

The pair met by chance, and their first session sparked an instant connection. That chemistry runs through “Break Through”, built from Max’s hazy, off-kilter production and Kyla’s instinctive lyricism. The track blends soft garage rhythms with alt-R&B textures and hip-hop undertones, finding quiet strength in vulnerability.

“It’s about the moments when you slip back into old habits,” Kyla explains, “but instead of getting stuck there, you learn to move through them with patience.” Max describes Kyla’s contribution as raw honesty that makes the music breathe: “Our process is about trust—letting the emotion lead.”
