Pem – m4 windy
Pem’s “m4 windy” starts with a moment most of us know, driving while humming a tune, phone catching fragments of melody. But where most voice memos get forgotten, Pem turned hers into something special. Written in an hour after a windy M4 drive, the track captures that spontaneous energy without losing its careful construction.
The song feels light but grounded, like wind through open car windows. Pem’s vocals float over instrumentation that never overwhelms her storytelling. It’s indie pop that doesn’t try too hard, built from a genuine moment rather than forced inspiration. After 2024’s grief-heavy “cloud work” EP, this feels like breathing room – still thoughtful, but with space to move.
Director duo Las Favoritas filmed the video in the French countryside, building an all-female crew for nighttime shoots in a boulder park. Nine people crammed into a van to create something that matches the song’s breezy urgency.
