Disclosure, Anderson .Paak – NO CAP

‘No Cap’ isn’t trying to be deep, and that’s precisely its strength. Disclosure’s Guy and Howard Lawrence team up with Anderson .Paak for a track built for sweat, smiles, and the kind of dance floor where time stops making sense. It’s a collision of Disclosure’s club mechanics with .Paak’s effortless charisma.

From the immediate beginning, the beat is pure Disclosure: stealthy, shifting percussion; elastic bass but punchy; a slinky synth line sliding through the mix. Over it, .Paak switches gears between smooth, sung hooks and rapid-fire verses with that trademark laugh in his voice.

The track was co-written with Jimmy Napes, a long-time collaborator in the Disclosure universe, and produced with enough layers to keep DJs happy, but clear hooks that will stick with casual listeners long after the club lights come up. Both acts have been road-testing it in DJ sets for weeks, teasing fans with snippets and getting precisely the kind of reaction they wanted: instant movement.

For Disclosure, this marks the first release since 2024’s ‘King Steps’ with Pa Salieu, adding to a catalogue of high-profile collabs that stretches from their 2012 breakthrough ‘Latch’ with Sam Smith to more recent partnerships with Raye and Chris Lake. For .Paak, it’s another reminder of his chameleon-like range — equally at home delivering soul, funk, R&B, or, in this case, club-ready vocal dynamite.

In their words, “Creating something with Andy has been a long time coming… He’s one of the most talented musicians we have ever worked with, and we can’t wait for you all to hear this one and perform it live together soon.” .Paak’s take? “This collab is well overdue… ‘No Cap’ is the ideal dancefloor banger you don’t have to think about.”

Ultimately, ‘No Cap’ isn’t reinventing the wheel — it’s spinning it as fast as it will go, and making sure it’s wrapped in enough groove to keep the room moving until sunrise.
