Ty Segall – Fantastic Tomb

Garage rock dynamo Ty Segall returns with “Fantastic Tomb,” the lead single from his upcoming album “Possession,” set for release on May 30th via Drag City. Following last year’s “Three Bells” and instrumental “Love Rudiments,” this new collection marks Segall’s 16th studio album.

For “Possession,” Segall collaborated with longtime creative partner and filmmaker Matt Yoka on lyrics, bringing a non-musician’s language sensibility to the proceedings. Their partnership has yielded richly narrative material, exemplified by the nearly six-minute epic “Fantastic Tomb”—a modern American noir-meets-classic rock hoedown that tackles wealth inequality through its protagonist’s ill-fated treasure hunt.

Beyond this release, Segall’s relentless creative output continues unabated. Earlier this year, he unveiled Freckle, a collaboration with Color Green guitarist Corey Madden. He’s currently on a solo acoustic tour throughout North America, with full-band dates scheduled for October, though European shows remain unannounced.
