Nadeem Din-Gabisi – Chariots
Nadeem Din-Gabisi’s Chariots is a powerful reckoning with identity, migration, and the weight of history. Following I Land, this track continues his exploration of displacement, lineage, and the complexities of existing in the West.
Chariots carries a Creole chorus, a call to awaken and listen—a conversation between adult and inner child. The verses narrate the historical forces that shaped migration, the losses endured through transatlantic slavery, and a longing to break free from Western structures that have inflicted generational harm.
As a member of Steamdown Collective and a multidisciplinary artist, Nadeem’s work is steeped in poetic truth-telling. His past projects, including his debut album POOL, have blended jazz, highlife, and raw urban soundscapes, and Chariots is no exception.
