GOON – Death Spells

Los Angeles quartet GOON unveils “Death Spells”, a delicate yet unsettling preview of their upcoming 2025 LP on Born Losers Records. The track features the entire band’s input, recorded over two weeks in October with Claire Morison, including harmonies from former member Drew Eccleston.

Following a challenging period, band leader Kenny Becker gathered the full ensemble for this recording. The result is a composition that gradually unfolds through gentle acoustic guitar, Shane Peralta’s resonator guitar, subtle electronics, xylophone, and piano, before building into something more intense.

Becker’s ethereal vocals carry warning tones and create an atmosphere that balances beauty with underlying tension.

Since their 2015 beginnings as Becker’s solo venture, GOON has evolved through releases like “Dusk of Punk” EP (2016), “Heaven Is Humming” (2019), and “Hour of Green Evening”, consistently blending psychedelic rock elements with folk sensibilities.
