Skyzoo & Method Man – The Workload
Skyzoo and Method Man join forces on “The Workload”, a powerful collaboration sparked by a significant moment in hip-hop culture. The track emerged from Method Man’s frustration following a summer festival performance with Redman, where the duo felt disconnected from younger audiences who seemed unaware of the legacy they were witnessing.
“When Meth said he was done with a certain demographic, I understood his stance,” Skyzoo explains, speaking as a self-proclaimed Wu loyalist. The Brooklyn wordsmith saw this as an opportunity to bridge the generational gap while paying tribute to a legend. Produced by Cartune Beatz, the track’s dark, ominous soundscape perfectly complements both artists’ commanding presence.
This first-time collaboration showcases their exceptional pen game, with both MCs delivering standout verses. Skyzoo’s lines like “I can pen your doom or I can lead you where the plaques are” demonstrate why he’s considered one of the East Coast’s most skilled yet underappreciated writers. The track will appear on his upcoming project “Keep Me Company”, scheduled for release on November 29.
