Geordie Greep – Holy, Holy

Geordie Greep, known for his work with Black Midi, is venturing into solo territory with his debut album “The New Sound”, set to be released on October 4th via Rough Trade Records. The album has been recorded between Brazil and London with over 30 musicians and his first single, “Holy, Holy”, blends indie-pop with Latin big band elements, featuring a three-piano arrangement. Greep describes the album’s theme as “desperation,” with a sound that’s both “liquid and propulsive” yet rigidly structured. The creative process was liberating for Greep, allowing him to follow his impulses without constraints. However, his recent remarks about Black Midi being “indefinitely over” have stirred some controversy.
