Lady Blackbird – Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)

Lady Blackbird’s new single “Let Not (Your Heart Be Troubled)” has just dropped, and it’s quite something. It’s part of her upcoming album “Slang Spirituals,” set to release on September 13th.

This track is different from what you might expect. It’s got this psychedelic gospel vibe that’s pretty unique. The song’s been getting some good attention already – it was featured on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music.

What struck me about this song is how personal it feels. The line, “Heaven is just a game not meant to last,” seems to be about letting go of past religious constraints. It’s clear she’s putting a lot of herself into this music.

Together with producer Chris Seefried, they’ve managed to create this sound a mix of traditional gospel elements with more psychedelic sounds.

Lady Blackbird’s been busy lately. She performed at Chaka Khan’s Meltdown Festival in London and had a sold-out residency in Los Angeles. It seems like she’s hitting her stride.

She’s got some tour dates coming up too, supporting Moby in the UK and Europe, and then doing her own headline run later in the year.
