Wings of Desire – Whisper

Chloe Little and James Taylor are taking a different approach with their new project. The Wings of Desire duo will release a new single on each new moon throughout 2026, culminating in a full album on December 9th. It’s an ambitious concept rooted in natural cycles rather than algorithmic release strategies.

“Whisper” arrives as the first track, released on January 18th with the year’s first new moon. The song builds on the gritty dream-pop foundations they established on 2023’s “Life Is Infinite”, but it feels more patient, more deliberate. The production focuses on space and rhythm—those biological pulses the band mentions aren’t just conceptual. You can hear them in the way the track moves.

The video was shot during winter solstice, fixing into themes of renewal and the thin barrier between physical and spiritual worlds. Little and Taylor describe the project as about standing still in a fractured culture, finding ritual in daily life. “Everyday is a ritual, and every moment presents us with lore and wonder,” they say. “Stand still like the hummingbird.”

Each upcoming single will come with its own visual piece, building toward that December release. The project continues the duo’s exploration of finding sanity in an accelerated world, with references to folklore, birth, and the natural cycles we’ve largely abandoned in modern life.

Since “Life Is Infinite”, Wings of Desire have supported Editors, Nation of Language, and Bleach Lab on tour, played The Roundhouse with The Cribs, and earned radio support from Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music. They’ve also released the “Shut Up & Listen” EP (which raised funds for Stroud community project The Long Table) and the standalone single “A Few More Years” in 2025.

“Whisper” sets the tone for what’s coming—twelve new moons, twelve new tracks, one complete album by year’s end.
