Daniel Avery – Haze w/ Ellie (Midnight Version)
Daniel Avery announces “Tremor (Midnight Versions)”, remixing his entire 2025 album “Tremor” for the club, dropping March 6th via Domino. He shares “Haze w/ Ellie (Midnight Version)” alongside the announcement, stripping away the guitars and rock drums from the original for something sleeker and more directly techno.
Avery describes the project as the nocturnal counterpart to “Tremor”, aimed directly at the strobe light. He remixed every track himself, reframing the material through a techno lens while maintaining the emotional weight and textural depth of the originals. “For every tremor there’s a reaction,” he says. “These are the Midnight Versions. Songs reimagined and sent directly into the night.”
The original “Tremor” featured collaborators Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Walter Schreifels (Quicksand/Rival Schools), Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell, bdrmm, Julie Dawson (NewDad), yeule, Art School Girlfriend, yunè pinku, and Cecile Believe. Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails) and David Wrench (FKA twigs, Frank Ocean) mixed the album, with Heba Kadry mastering.
Two Midnight Versions dropped earlier: “Rapture In Blue” with Cecile Believe and “Greasy Off The Racing Line” with Alison Mosshart. The full project positions itself as a bridge between “Tremor’s” expansive collaborative spirit and Avery’s enduring techno lineage.
The release coincides with Avery’s month-long DJ residency at London’s Phonox, happening every Friday in March. The album drops on the residency’s opening night. Avery also announced live dates for Glasgow and Dublin in April, plus a North American DJ tour spanning Toronto, New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, Portland, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
