Mesosauna – Rotta Calabra (ft. Daniele Gas)

Milan’s Mesosauna brings Turin’s Daniele Gas into their world on “Rotta Calabra”, where tribal percussion meets acid-soaked electronics in a meditation on Mediterranean crossings. The track floats on a slow groove, bass frequencies bubbling up while analog synths cast golden light across the top. Gas speaks in Italian, his voice circling a handful of phrases until they lock into a collective trance.

The production balances opposites without trying to reconcile them. Acoustic drums sit next to drum machines, whispered voices weave through sequencer lines, and the mood stays sensual while keeping an edge. Gas references safe harbours in his spoken sections, pointing toward the crisis of boats and borders without spelling everything out. The words become rhythm, the political becomes personal, and the track keeps moving forward.

This marks Mesosauna’s second release on Factory Flaws as they dig deeper into Milan’s underground circuit. Gas draws on years of playing across electronic styles, and that fluidity shows in how the elements breathe together. Studio Fonfon handled the artwork. The title translates as “Calabrian Route”, naming the path many take across the sea, hoping for something better on the other side.
