MOULD – Float
Bristol’s MOULD delivers “Float” with all the venom and self-awareness you’d expect from a band watching the world scroll itself into numbness. Released November 11 via 5dB Records, the track tears into contemporary malaise without holding back.
Frontman Joe Sherrin describes it plainly: “Humans star as disgraceful, monstrous morons, glued to distraction, pathetically powerless against the shiny and vapid.” The lyrics match that energy, moving through hellscapes while staying willfully ignorant, ambling toward oblivion gladly. There’s a line about being obsessed with ourselves in a self-congratulatory world that’s relentless, and it hits exactly right.
Joe Sherrin handles vocals and guitar, Kane Eagle plays bass and backing vocals, James Luxton drums and backing vocals, with Sam Bedford on additional backing vocals. The production keeps everything sharp and focused, no fat on these bones.
“Float” is the band’s first release since their second EP “Almost Feels Like Purpose” earlier this year. Their debut album drops in early 2026, and if this single indicates the direction, it should be worth the wait. Bristol’s noise-punk scene stays vital, and MOULD proves why.
