Mandy, Indiana – Magazine

Mandy, Indiana move to Sacred Bones for their second album “Urgh”, due February 6, 2026. The Manchester-based four-piece of Valentine Caulfield (vocals), Scott Fair (guitar/production), Simon Catling (synths), and Alex Macdougall (drums) recorded between Berlin and Greater Manchester, with Fair producing and Daniel Fox of Gilla Band co-producing and mixing.

The lead single, “Magazine,” channels raw anger into industrial dance music. Jackhammering beats hit hard while maintaining an undercurrent of danceability. Caulfield delivers French-language vocals that shift from whispers to distorted screams, her voice functioning as another instrument in the mix. The track builds to a brain-flattening finale that makes the band’s fury unmistakable.

The album was written in a studio house outside Leeds during a difficult period. Both Caulfield and Macdougall underwent multiple surgeries, and those experiences shaped the record’s themes of inner turmoil and external chaos. All four members contributed to songwriting this time, expanding their approach from debut “i’ve seen a way”.

“Urgh” features billy woods on “Sicko!” and spans ten tracks that push between club energy and abstract noise. Songs like “Life Hex” lean physical while “Cursive” and “A Brighter Tomorrow” work more conceptually. The predominantly French lyrics deal with violence, overwhelm, and finding voice in chaos.
