waterbaby – Beck n Call

Stockholm’s waterbaby drops “Beck n Call”, a neo-soul-pop track built around a circular piano riff and staccato rhythms. She wrote it with her regular collaborator Marcus White and guest rapper ttoh, with White handling production and mixing. The song leans into late ’90s/early 2000s R&B feels without copying them directly.

The production keeps things lively—piano loop up front, strings tucked in the background, waterbaby’s vocals playing with R&B tricks while staying distinct. ttoh’s verse adds another layer without crowding the track.

“Beck n Call” follows her spring 2025 single “Amiss” and her 2023 Sub Pop debut EP “foam”. That EP earned two Swedish Grammy nominations, including Newcomer of the Year and Composer of the Year for White.
