DITZ – Don Enzo Magic Carpet Salesman

Brighton noise-rock band DITZ release “Don Enzo Magic Carpet Salesman”, a nine-minute, three-part epic that expands their sound beyond their acclaimed second album “Never Exhale”. The track arrives alongside B-side “Kalimba Song” on a limited edition 12″ via City Slang Records, available November 28th.

Guitarist Jack Looker started “Don Enzo” as a short demo after their touring wrapped earlier this year. Vocalist C.A. Francis added lyrics and sent it back, only for Looker to return with five more minutes of music. “The song reflects my frustration with AI art,” Francis explains. “The first part reacting to the issue, the second written from the AI’s perspective, and the final section representing the last gasp of real art before being overwhelmed by artificial output.”

The track starts with a lulling, almost whimsical melody before Francis’s vocals shift from simmering to volcanic. It erupts into frenetic punk, bulldozes through a trip-hop prog detour, then gets funky and glitchy. The structure keeps you engaged throughout the nine minutes, with each section distinct yet flowing naturally into the next.

Formed in 2015, DITZ built their reputation through incendiary live shows and relentless touring. “Never Exhale” earned praise from Stereogum, The Skinny, DIY, Treble, and BBC 6 Music. The limited 12″ will be sold at tour dates before the official release.
