Bob Vylan – Sick Sad World
Bob Vylan returns with “Sick Sad World”, their first single since last year’s “Humble As The Sun”. The punk-rap duo tackles societal collapse head-on, with Bobby Vylan calling out politicians and media lies over production that nods to psychedelic punk acts.
The track finds Bobby rapping about food bank lines, corruption, and a system that prioritises power over people. Lines about feeding lies instead of feeding people cut straight to the point. He doesn’t mince words about bad apples and rotten systems: “The remedy is to cut the whole tree down.”
It’s a departure from the punchy, aggressive production on “Humble As The Sun”, though the catchy hooks and punk gnarliness still hit hard.
The title and cover art reference “Sick, Sad World”, the fictional TV show from the ’90s cartoon Daria that satirised modern chaos. It’s a fitting choice for a song about 2025’s mess.
Bob Vylan heads out on tour in three weeks. The single is available on all platforms, with direct support through Bandcamp.
