Just Mustard – ENDLESS DEATHLESS

Just Mustard released “ENDLESS DEATHLESS” today from their third album We Were Just Here, dropping October 24th via Partisan Records. The Dundalk five-piece recorded at Black Mountain studio near their hometown, with guitarist David Noonan producing alongside the band. David Wrench, known for work with Frank Ocean and FKA twigs, mixed the album.

Katie Ball wrote the lyrics, imagining herself on a dance floor. The band wanted tracks that worked in that setting. She calls it “an existential love song” but says listeners can interpret it however they want. Ball’s vocals sit higher in the mix compared to their previous work, rising above the noise with more melody and brightness.

“ENDLESS DEATHLESS” blends sub-bass pulses with distorted noise and dreamlike vocals. The rhythm section goes for a busy attack that pulls from post-punk, while the guitar effects lean toward shoegaze. It’s fast and disorienting, capturing the feeling of a dancefloor at the edge of collapse.

Noonan directed the video himself, creating a lo-res, chopped-up visual that mirrors the sensory overload of a crowded venue. The track follows previous singles “POLLYANNA” and the album’s title track.

Ball explains the album’s shift: “I was trying to write more optimistically, and feeling like a fraud sometimes. I was trying to put myself in places of physical joy to try and get that euphoric feeling.” Where their 2022 album Heart Under dealt with grief and longing, We Were Just Here reaches toward ecstasy and connection.

Just Mustard will play UK and Ireland in-store shows this October, followed by their biggest headline show yet at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on May 1st, 2026. They’ll support The Cure at three major outdoor shows next summer.
