Chiedu Oraka – Kid On The Estate

Hip-hop artist Chiedu Oraka returns with “Kid On The Estate”, a garage-fueled party starter with production from Deezkid. The track arrives as Oraka prepares to support Coldplay at their Hull stadium shows, following his breakthrough year after releasing debut mixtape “Misfit” in April 2024.

Deezkid’s production dials into UK garage elements with sub-low waves and grime studio touches. Oraka stays true to his roots, he describes the song as music designed to lift moods and help people forget bad days: “turn it up a load and grab yourself a cold one.”

Oraka calls himself “The Black Yorkshireman” and positions his work as unflinching social poetry portraying Black, working-class northern experiences. His bars mix serious subject with colorful local slang, representing stories that haven’t been told in proper depth.

The past year has seen rapid elevation for Oraka: winning Best Newcomer at the Northern Music Awards 2025, supporting Skepta, headlining The Line of Best Fit’s SXSW showcase, opening for CASISDEAD, and performing BBC Music Introducing Stage at Glastonbury. His track “Helly Hansen 6” spent four weeks on BBC 6Music’s C List, and he became BBC Radio 1’s first Future Flex freestyle performer.

“Kid On The Estate” also marks his upcoming EP “Undeniable” (October 31) and announces his UK headline tour starting in his hometown Hull before hitting Newcastle, Leeds, and London.
